The Spanish company Vortex has developed a unique wind turbine Vortex Bladeless, which generate electricity even without wings. From a distance, it resembles a huge asparagus plant generates power by exploiting turbulence resulting from wind avoiding an obstacle - in this case it is the same. Strong winds, the plant is shaking.
The wind hit the road any obstruction, for its undulating vortex is formed. This problem has plagued engineers in various fields over the years - such turbulence sometimes even fall down bridges. However Vortex Bladeless engineers designed the plant swirl exploits as an advantage. The wind, the whole plant starts to oscillate synchronously and thus produce energy.
The narrow, cone-shaped turbine main components are carbon and glass fibers. The foundation structure installed magnet enhances fibrillation effect regardless of the wind speed.
According to manufacturers, the new Vortex Bladeless "plants installed cost significantly cheaper than conventional wind turbines with wings. Their care also costs less, because the plant does not have mechanical parts that wear due to friction, as happens in the case of conventional wings. Moreover, such a power plant is completely silent.
However, skeptics note that traditional, its reliability already proven wind turbine is high and so can "catch" the wind at a height where it blows freely: according to them, lead wind blowing face various obstacles, making it hard to believe that just a few meters elevated above ground plant can be as effective as 100 m high power station.
However, although so far the new plant will not cause a revolution in the global energy sector, it is an interesting experiment demonstrating that wind energy can develop in many directions.
