The company introduced a new generation Corning Gorilla Glass glass 4, which is designed for mobile device screens to protect against damage.
Perhaps the biggest sodium-calcium-silicate glass problem was that it was dropped on a hard surface from a height of about a meter, it crashed almost 100% of cases. In turn, the new Gorilla Glass shatters 4 only about 20% of cases.
According to the manufacturer Corning, Gorilla Glass 4 preproduction already reached the company's partners, while commercial mobile devices with this glass should debut in 2015.
Some experts predict that the new Corning Glass
will be serious competition for producers of sapphire sky. Sapphire good protection against abrasive techniques, but can break easily. As the mobile device screens usually suffer from a fall on hard surfaces, Gorilla Glass 4 acquires a competitive advantage.
